Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Akinwande had braces growing up, and her orthodontist worked in the same dental office as her uncle. Whenever she came in for a visit, she always wanted to see her uncle, but the team consistently told her he was busy. One day, she got so frustrated that she just rushed into his treatment room. Little did she know, her uncle was actually an oral surgeon, and he was in the middle of a procedure. Before she was calmly asked to exit, she got to see her uncle work with the patient and comfort them, and it really stuck with her. She walked out and told her mom, “That’s what I want to do when I grow up.”
