Intraoral Camera

Dentist using intraoral camera to capture smile photos

No longer do you have to just take your dentist’s word for it when you have a dental problem; with our MouthWatch intraoral cameras, you can see the issue for yourself! As we maneuver this thin, camera-tipped wand inside of your mouth, it displays crystal-clear, close-up images of your teeth and gums on a nearby monitor. You’ll thoroughly understand what’s going on in your mouth and why Dr. Akinwande might recommend a particular treatment.

Digital X-Rays

To view areas of your mouth that are hidden beneath the surface, we use 100% digital X-rays rather than traditional film X-rays. As a result, we’re able to capture high-resolution images in a fraction of the time, making our diagnoses faster and more accurate and our treatments more effective. We’ll be sure to thoroughly explain what the images mean so that you fully understand the state of your smile’s health.

CBCT Scanner

When it comes to planning highly advanced procedures like root canal therapy or dental implant placement, two-dimensional X-rays simply don’t give us the full picture we need. Luckily, our cone beam / CT scanner does! As this device encircles your head, it captures dozens of images, which are then compiled into a 3D image of your mouth, jaw, and other nearby structures. This allows us to execute intricate procedures with extreme precision, leading to greater safety and comfort.

Digital Impression System

Before we can provide you with a mouthguard, Invisalign, or dental restorations like crowns, we’ll need to take impressions of your mouth. In the past, this meant biting into a chunk of messy putty that often caused patients to gag. Our iTero digital impression system makes the process much easier. By digitally scanning your teeth, we can capture more accurate measurements in a faster and more comfortable way.

Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry

When treating gum disease or correcting a gummy smile, we can avoid the need for a scalpel and sutures thanks to the Bluewave™? soft tissue laser. It emits an intensely concentrated beam of light that Dr. Akinwande can use to kill dangerous bacteria or trim overgrown gum tissue with impeccable precision compared to traditional instruments. The laser also cauterizes the site on contact, virtually eliminating pain, bleeding, and post-op discomfort.

Cavity Detection System

In addition to capturing digital impressions of your mouth, the iTero system also enables Dr. Akinwande to detect cavities much earlier on than she could otherwise – even with her highly trained eyes. The device captures and displays digital images of the teeth that reveal the tiniest sections of decayed or cracked enamel. Because we’re able to diagnose tooth decay in its earliest stages, we can intervene with conservative treatment methods before severe damage is done.
